Please have your child read the story, “At Home Around the World” to you in their blue reading books over the long weekend. Please review the highlighted vocabulary words as well.
Math: Students are learning their math facts. We are continuing to focus on +1, +2, and -1’s and -2’s. We have also been working with money and oh my goodness, we need a refresher. Please continue to count money with your child at home as well. We have a spiral curriculum which means once it’s taught it doesn’t come back again for a long time, so it’s important to keep it ongoing at home. We are doing the same in the classroom as well.
Science: Students are learning about teeth, how to brush, and keep them clean. Doctor Allison Buss will be coming into the classroom to discuss teeth with them again next week.
Social Studies: Students are learning about the presidents of the USA.  We will go more in detail on Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. They will also stop by for a visit next week.

Reminders/Glance at Next Week

I am asking that all students keep basketballs, footballs, toys, etc. at home. These things are getting lost on the playground and students are getting in trouble with them out at recess.

There are new pictures uploaded of the Valentine’s Day party. Check them out!
Please check the center schedule and let me know if you are unable to attend. Thanks so much!

Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, February 20 & Tuesday, February 21st. There will also be no math/spelling test that week. We are still collecting money for Family Fun Night. If you have not made a donation, please send in whatever you can. It is greatly appreciated.
