HAPPY EARLY DISMISSAL!
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE PARENTS THAT HELPED ON WEDNESDAY FOR CENTERS. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!

HELP WANTED: IN NEED OF 1-2 PARENTS TO PUT TOGETHER OUR NEXT DAILY LANGUAGE REVIEW BOOKS FOR US NEXT WEEK.

MISC: I WILL SEND YOU A CONFIRMATION EMAIL IN REGARDS TO YOUR PT CONFERENCE. I LOVE FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL AGAIN!

                                                    WHAT ARE WE DOING?

READING: Please have your child read "Boots for Beth" to you in their blue reading books. Review all highlighted words in the story. All books should be returned on Monday. We are working on the -short  "th" sound. We also did some readers theatre with this story, so please look for the videos to be posted on the blog sometime today.

In Reading Workshop, students are learning to make text-text connections. Students are learning that some books are connected or remind them of another book. Please help your child make text-self (soemething that has happened to them) and text-text (something that reminds them of another story) conections.

SPELLING: Students took their practice test today. If they have a +10 on their test, they WILL NOT take  the first 10 words on THURSDAY. However, they will take the challenge words. If your child missed any words on the pretest they will take the entire test. I have included a tab that gives you some ideas for practicing spelling.

MATH: We are still working on counting combinations of nickels and pennies, telling time to the hour, and adding numbers.. Please continue to work with your child on these skills at home as well.   Please let your child DO their homework and you check over it. This will help them when their working in their math journals at school. Are you using the extra math journal at home?  This is great extra practice for them as well.

SCIENCE: Bat projects are here! Have you started for on it with your child. Please do not wait until the night before to work on it with your child. Please make sure your child can read the project and present it to the class. They will be asked several questionsa about their project, so make sure they feel comfortable with it.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Students are  still learning about Fire Safety. Please make sure your child knows their address as well.
