FRIDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS-JAN. 20TH

HAPPY FRIDAY!

A couple of quick things to share with you. I will also post these on the blog however, our internet is down at the moment.

 Dates to Remember:

100’s day is January 30th. Your child should bring 100 items to school.

Penguin Projects are due January 23rd.

Here’s what’s been going on in 1Wi:

Reading: Students are learning how to make inferences (look for clues) to help them predict and figure out what is going on in their story. There is no story this week.

Math: Students are working on their math facts and telling time quarter past-quarter to. Next week the math test will be over (-1’s…i.e. 5-1, 4-1, 2-1, etc.) This will be on Thursday.

Science: We are continuing our studies about Penguins. Students are learning some very interesting facts that I hope to hear during their penguin projects.

Social Studies: We have been discussing Martin Luther King Jr. and the story of Ruby Bridges.

Spelling: Check your child’s folder for their spelling pretest. They’ll take their spelling test on Thursday.

Again, let me know if you ever have any questions/concerns. I am in need of parent volunteers for our center time during the mornings and afternoons. If you can and will, please let me know! Center times are on the first and third Wednesday. Morning center times are from 9:45-11:00. Afternoon center times are from 12:45-1:55. Please let me know if you are available. Even if you can help out 1X per month, I need you! Thanks!
