Show and Tell will start Tuesday, September 6. Monday students will show on Tuesday.
CURRIUCULM NOTES:
READING: Please have your child read "Sam and the Bag" to you in their blue reading books. Review all highlighted words in the story. All books should be returned on TUESDAY. We are working on short a words and word families.
SPELLING: Students took their practice test today. If they have a +10 on their test, they WILL NOT take the test on THURSDAY. However, please keep practicing these words because they may see them again.
MATH: Please practice with your child on counting by 5's orally and written. This week we reviewed tally marks, counting by 5's and 10's, days of the week, temperature and before and after numbers.
SCIENCE: This week we studied habitats. Students learned what a habitat is, different kinds of habitats, where they are located, and what animals/plants might live there.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Students learned about community laws. Students made posters of a community law of their choice.
MISC: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SENT IN YOUR $5 FOR SCHOLASTIC NEWS AND YOUR CHILD'S MATH TOOL BOX. IT SHOULD CONTAIN 20 PENNIES, 20 NICKLES, 10 DIMES, AND 4 QUARTERS. MAKE SURE THIS IS IN A LABELED BAG.
